Placement week is a full week event in which Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Finalists travel to the Washington, D.C. to interview with, and ultimately be placed in, a federal agency (executive) or congressional office (legislative).
The Sea Grant Knauss Fellowships provide a unique educational experience to graduate students who have an interest in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources.
The Fellowship, named after one of Sea Grant’s founders, former NOAA Administrator John A. Knauss, matches highly qualified graduate students with “hosts” in the legislative and executive branches of government located in D.C. for a one year period.

We have another fellowship, too! Learn more about our Sea Grant/NMFS Marine Resource Economics and Population Dynamics Fellowship.
