DIRECTOR’S UPDATE

Alignment Review
This week, I will send a note to the Sea Grant Directors summarizing lessons learned from the first planning alignment process (June 11-12). In addition, Directors will receive their results. Program officers will also contact Directors to discuss the results of the review. Thanks to all of you for making this program a success and for your willingness to try a different approach.

New National Information System Requirements Input
The NSGO has engaged in a formal requirements gathering process with 2020 Company, LLC which will occur until early August. The process is designed to identify new needs, enhancements and deliverables required for a new national information system. We are grateful to all of you who have provided feedback to us about NIMS over the past several years. This information has been compiled and provided to 2020 for incorporation into the business requirements for the new system. In addition, in order to develop an efficient and effective system that meets our network's needs, we have asked the network chairs to query their respective networks to identify high-level requirements, enhancements, suggestions and/or ideas that can guide development of the new system and meet your needs at the program-level. To see the questions (due July 23) visit:

Coastal Zone Meeting
I will attend next week's meeting in Boston. Sea Grant will deliver a workshop on renewable energy, organized by RI Sea Grant.
