Sea Grant is developing its 2024-2027 national strategic plan. The national office is hosting a series of web-based listening sessions ahead of writing the plan. Members of the public may also provide written comment via a virtual comment card. 

Mona Behl, the Associate Director for Georgia Sea Grant and a co-lead in Sea Grant's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion community of practice is interviewed by 2021 Knauss Fellow, Amara Davis. Mona discusses her journey to Sea Grant, the important work Sea Grant is doing to make the sciences more equitable, and what we can all do to facilitate a more inclusive future.

Sea Grant was reauthorized by Congress through 2025. The bill became law on December 18, 2020. 

Washington Sea Grant’s fellowships give students and recent graduates the real-world experience in marine research, policy and communication they need to help jump-start their careers. These fellows go on to do amazing things around the world.

In a study led by California Sea Grant Extension Specialist Theresa Talley, researchers found that nearly a quarter of fish sampled from a creek that flows into San Diego Bay contain microplastics. This work, which was recently published in the journal PLOS ONE, examined plastics in coastal sediments and three species of fish.
